I lost my keys, so when Jacob said to buy him some time (to get home and let me in) by getting dinner, I thought what he REALLY meant was go to Urban Outfitters.
Which I did.  Justified by the fact that I only bought HIM things (okay I bought myself a pair of shoes but that doesn’t count).  It also works out quite well for me since I wear his clothes… anyway.
I got him this shirt in two colors.  He said it looked like a shirt that Rocky Balboa would wear.  I said it looked like a shirt George Harrison would’ve worn in the 70’s.  AND LOOK, EVEN THEIR SITE SUGGESTS THAT SKINNY BOYS WITH SCRUFF AND SLIGHTLY LONGISH HAIR SHOULD WEAR IT.
You’re welcome.

Boy cardigans are so comfy… it’s like swimming in a sea of knitwear.  This deep v, while not so deep on Jacob, went past my belly button, so I paired it with a cute peach colored corset.  Girly + boy is always a good mix.
On the bottom was my standard short shorts, black tights, and canvas puma boot thing.

11/10/09- Not Your Average Suzie Homemaker
Our main focus as of late is getting all of our things finally settled and decorated in the apartment.  With my attention span, I don’t quite know how long that will take me… but I figure a pink swiffer might help along the way.
So of course I woke up at noon, threw on Jacob’s blue and white striped shirt that he wore yesterday (it smelled of Old Spice, which I enjoy), spent hours on the internet, ate a burger, and then finally started our laundry and picking things up.  At which point I had to go to the cellar so the tights and my Burberry rainboots made their way into the outfit.
No I’m no Betty Draper when it comes to um, keeping a home…

perhaps more like Sienna Miller in Alfie? (Don’t worry baby, I promise I won’t burn the apartment down)

Why are you taking my picture while I’m getting ready??

Mine:

  • Delphine Murate warrior leggings in midnight blue/black
  • cut off shorts

p.s. I styled JB’s shirt to wear it as a dress…

Flashback to December ‘08:
Pre-bf days but obviously I wasn’t above finding random shirts in his ‘not even unpacked from San Diego suitcase’ to wear out.  I loved this flannel jacket shirt hoodie thing from the moment I saw it… and that’s when my wheels started cranking.  I could just picture it with leggings and boots on, running around The Studio at Webster Hall…
So i did it.

Wednesday’s cover of WWD caught my attention.  The whole Gender Bender/boy meets girl/girl who wears men’s clothing thing has been going since the days of (and even before) Annie Hall.  It’s also been a look that I’ve come back to between being compeltely girly/frou-frou/pink and lace, etc.
I love the layering of the striped sweater dress with the sweater vest/cardigan belted around, bare legs, and the boots.  The oversized and sloppy pieces work on her rail thin model body mainly since they’re knits and drape nicely on her. And I love the fact that the tongues on her boots just kind of flop… adding more of that undone sloppiness while the rest of her feet are constrained by the laces.
I actually somehow put together an outfit that slightly reflects this look when I was looking for a sweater to borrow from JB.  By ‘slightly reflects’ I mean looks nothing like this, but same idea.  I think I’m going to end up wearing it tonight, since this weather really won’t offer me many other options. Boy’s clothes are comfy.
